We all age differently. So many factors can influence when we start to see lines and the severity of signs of aging, like crow’s feet and frown lines. These factors range from genetics to early, chronic, and severe exposure to UV radiation from the sun due to tanning. Your chronological age is not the determining factor regarding “timing” or when to start Botox®. Read on to learn more about when Botox® at the office of Perfect Skin MD in Jupiter, Florida, may be right for you and your unique goals, characteristics, and needs.
The FDA approves Botox® for use among patients aged 18 and older. There is no “maximum” age limit or requirement. Here again, the best time to begin and, accordingly, end Botox® treatments can vary dramatically from person to person and is based on unique factors, from skin type to lifestyle. There is no other Botox® or skincare journey that is quite like yours!
The nature and severity of your lines and signs of aging determine if you are a good candidate for Botox® Cosmetic or the range of other non-surgical, aesthetic therapies available at our office. So, Botox® may be appropriate. We can address premature aging and delay the formation of severe wrinkling with this injectable treatment.
Yes! Prejuvenation is more than a buzzword to us. Preventing or stopping signs of aging before they start or get worse is very appealing. It’s always easier to stay ahead of problems versus trying to play “catch up,” correcting damage after it has already occurred.
Botox® works fundamentally in the same ways, regardless of your age or needs. It relaxes the muscles that are responsible for expression lines. However, there is a “twist” on the conventional technique. Our Board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon, Dr. Susan Schroeder, may recommend “baby Botox.” This approach involves microdosing or using very small doses and fewer units of Botox® to achieve a subtle and gentle result. It’s most appropriate for those who want to prevent future wrinkling and patients who are new to treatment and don’t have severe lines or creases.
The aging process marches on. We respect that treatments are a personal decision. You may wish to start Botox® earlier rather than later because, as your skin ages and loses its “bounce” (elasticity), lines and wrinkles may become “set in.” With that being said, the office of Perfect Skin MD has the option to restore your healthy, brilliant skin – regardless of how many birthdays you’ve had! To start the process of getting one big step closer to your confident “goal” look, request a consultation with Dr. Schroeder at our practice today. Serving Juno Beach, Jupiter, North Palm Beach, and greater Southeastern FL, our team looks forward to your call at 561-462-1965.
