Dr. Susan Schroeder is hard-wired for aesthetics. Long before she ever held a scalpel, she was designing clothing, spinning wool, and painting portraits—shaping the keen visual sense and steady hands that now define her work in dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology.

She began her career in the world of fashion, graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles and working as a clothing designer. There, she developed an intuitive understanding of proportion, harmony, and the subtle details that define beauty. Today, that artistry is seamlessly woven into her medical expertise—offering patients refined, natural-looking results grounded in both science and creativity.

Training & Credentials That Set Her Apart

Dr. Schroeder earned her Medical Degree from New York Medical College, followed by a medical internship and dermatology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis—one of the nation’s top institutions. She completed a competitive fellowship in cosmetic and surgical dermatology, gaining advanced training in:

As a former Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Dr. Schroeder founded the institution’s first division dedicated to cosmetic dermatology and cosmeceuticals. She has trained dozens of residents in the nuanced art and science of aesthetic care, contributing to the evolution of cosmetic dermatology as both a clinical and creative discipline.
