Our female bodies are constantly changing; we experience hormonal and physical changes, not just once, but many times over the course of our lifetimes. A few might welcome these shifts, but for most, unwelcome aging occurs in more than just the “sun-exposed areas.” For those of us who have had pregnancies, gynecological challenges, or have experienced (peri) menopause, and just normal aging, the symptoms of vaginal dryness, discomfort, leakage, and increased urinary frequency are unwelcome. Science and technology continue to evolve, and women don’t have to accept these bodily changes as their new normal. Intimate confidence, comfort, and functionality can be both regained and maintained with a vaginal rejuvenation procedure.
In Juno Beach, Dr. Susan Schroeder of Perfect Skin MD provides vaginal rejuvenation for her female patients and has since 2017 with a 99% satisfaction rate. Please see her answers to common questions that her patients ask:
Vaginal rejuvenation with FemTouch is a CO2 fractional laser treatment that stimulates your body to remodel your own tissue and produce new collagen, vascular, and nerve growth. Increased collagen in turn restores vaginal tone, leading to improvement in bladder incontinence, and sexual function, resulting in less pain and drying. Overall, women typically feel much more confident in both daily routine, exercise, and intimate situations after this procedure.
Vaginal rejuvenation helps to improve a number of intimate concerns, including:
Rejuvenation treatments can be performed on patients as young as 20 or as old as 80. To determine if you’re a candidate, an appointment with Dr. Schroeder is required.
For many, urinary leakage while exercising, sneezing, or coughing is common, particularly after childbirth or as they age. Often these symptoms are accepted as normal aging, and treatment may not be actively pursued if mild. While these symptoms are commonplace, they don’t have to be the norm.
Patients undergoing our vaginal rejuvenation procedure typically do not feel pain. Most report feeling a slight pressure, vibration, and a feeling of warmth during treatment. In most cases, patients resume daily activities immediately (with the exception of waiting 3 days before engaging in sex). If the external genitals are treated, you may experience localized discomfort, redness, or swelling for 3-5 days. It’s a discomfort similar to a rug burn.
Most patients notice a change following the second treatment. A few enjoy improvement after just one. For best results, patients usually require three treatments four to six weeks apart. Patients may also opt to have one treatment yearly going forward to maintain continuous improvement.
